A Note from the Principal

Greetings Cumberland family and community! Cumberland Elementary is part of the Whites Creek learning community and are excited to be part of the ReimaginED initiative.  We are providing learning opportunities to help students close achievement gaps, and exposure to high level curriculum daily in ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies. We offer unique LEAPs clubs to all students, such as Coding Club, Jumprope Club, Beat Maker Club and Chess Club.

At Cumberland, we say we are "One house, 4 dens" where students learn to become leaders. Come experience the difference at Cumberland Elementary! In the 2021-2022 school year, Cumberland became a K-5 program, offering unique academic and leadership programs for 5th grade scholars. These include being school ambassadors, being part of the Cumberland Bears News Team, and student House Leaders.

At Cumberland, we believe that every stakeholder in the community is valuable to education and parent involvement is the cornerstone in achievement. We are proud to continue to offer easy access to the Communities in Schools resource center, hosting Principal and Parent coffees and fireside chats, and Cumberland PTA. We have a fully certified and high qualified teaching staff who are leaders in the work of high-quality education. Teachers take part of collaborative practices to better serve students and work to instill a love of learning in all students.

At Cumberland, we have a full time Gifted Scholars teacher, as well as a full time EL support teacher.  At Cumberland, we are FIRED UP and READY TO GO because FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!
